A Portrait of my son, once a week, every week, in 2014.
4th of July -38 Weeks
I’m so obsessed with your every smile and every laugh. It’s so contagious. I hope you always have this amazingly sunny disposition because you make everyone else around you happier when you’re around.
I call you grabby grabby two by four because you are non-stop touching everything you come into contact with. Eyes, nose, mouth, tail…nothing is safe and you’ve started to bite with those teeth! Ouch!
We’ve been practicing holding your bottle and it’s still a work in progress. You still prefer mom to hold it for you or you like to take it out and go cross-eyed while checking out the nipple. 🙂
You shake your head back and forth (like saying no) whenever you’re feeling especially silly or right before you put yourself to sleep. It’s really, really, cute!
You also have started to grind your teeth, which is not so cute. It sounds worse than nails on a chalkboard and I’m hoping it passes really soon.
The raptor screaming still continues when you are frustrated or trying to get our attention or just trying to be funny.
Just this week you have started to show preference to me! I couldn’t believe it. You will reach for me and squirm when someone else is holding you. I never thought I’d see the day. Secretly I’m soaking it up and am torn between wanting you to be a mama’s boy and making sure that you don’t have any stranger anxiety. For the most part you love everyone but will only give kisses to me or other select ladies. I think the only reason you don’t want to kiss daddy is because his face is always so we’ll just pretend that you love your mommy the most!
