A portrait of my son, once a week, every week, in 2015.
4 months old!
Your well baby visit isn’t until next week so I’m not sure on all your stats, but you’re still a petite little guy. Getting chubbier and heavier every week but you’re definitely smaller than all these other babies that were born after you. I’m not complaining though, because my back is already killing me! I threw it out last week picking you up out of your crib in the middle of the night. At only 13 lbs or so, it’s still a lot for me to pick you up from your crib 10+ times a day. I started working out this week so I’m hoping a stronger core will help.
On your actual 4 month birthday I took you in to get your dtap vaccine (you did fantastic!) and barely cried. On your two month appt, you were so miserable all day with a fever from the Hib vaccine that your daddy had tears streaming down his face trying to console you. He’s a huge softie when it comes to you and honestly we had no idea we could love someone this much! No matter what people say to try to prepare you for parenthood, nothing comes close than actually experiencing it. Luckily you’ve been such a healthy, happy boy but the few times we’ve seen you in pain have been the most difficult thing for us to watch you go through. ie: your circumcision was a nightmare…if we had to do it all over again I think we would have chosen differently. As the doctor went to give you your shot you kicked your leg and the needle missed and bent when it went in. They then proceeded to stick you again in the right place with the bent needle and I’m 100% positive you weren’t anesthetized at all for the procedure. Our hearts felt like they were being ripped out and it was one of the worst things I’ve ever experienced. I hope for the both of us that you don’t ever have to go through something that traumatic ever again.
p.s. Your gecko toes are crazy long and you use them like fingers (just like your mama). You curl them any chance you get and like to put the bottoms of your feet together when you’re on your back. I love them. 🙂
