Madness

Today and yesterday have had me neck deep in anxiety.  Not positive but I think it has something to do with my schedule for the next few months?

August 22-25: Oregon for work and play

August 31: Utah Our Footsteps for Fertility 5K

September 4-6: Wisconsin-for my grandpa’s memorial

September 6-8: California for Ai & Alex’s wedding (Tyler is officiating!) and my mom’s birthday

September 20-29: Costa Rica for a much needed vacation

October:  Colorado and California dates tbd

November 2: Moab, Utah 1st 1/2 Trail Marathon!

All the while I’m trying to get ready for my first trail half marathon and these summer storms alternating with scorching heat are really putting a damper on my training schedule.  Not to mention trying to find the time to do so.  How do you people do it?  And with kids too?

Plus all of these expenses pop up when we least expect it.  Last week Dudley’s foot/toes swelled up so much that we scheduled an emergency appointment on Saturday to see the vet.  Turns out he had a foxtail that had worked its way through his middle toe and out the other side and had to have surgery scheduled that same afternoon.

If you have pets you have to read this article about foxtails.  I had no idea they were so deadly.

Tyler took him swimming last Thursday at Tibble Fork Reservoir and I’m 99% sure that’s where it got infected.  Poor guy was in so much pain he couldn’t put any weight on it and was drugged up for several days after his surgery.

I’m so sad I’ve lost my running buddy for awhile and our hikes are just not the same without him.   He’s doing so much better though and is almost back to his normal spunky self if it wasn’t for his e-collar….pictures to come later because he’s so darn cute and pathetic  with it on!
